PHILOSOPHY AND OVERVIEW

Architecture is the embodiment of the built environment which we live in, move through, and use. It consists of not only volume and surface, light and air, color and movement, but also the physical and functional elements of construction and technology. Great design is timeless, and while not always the hight of fashion, it survives fads and changing values.

Of all the professions, architects are responsible for the broadest range of criteria, including economic responsibilities (rare is the project in which cost is not a factor).  The role of architects is to harmonize the built environment by balancing issues of aesthetics, shelter, comfort, engineering, sociology, and the environment, thereby improving the quality of everyday life.
